Gary Cartwright, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away on October 21, 2024, surrounded by family at Lake Regional Hospital. He was born on February 27, 1950, in Cleveland, Tennessee, and grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, where he graduated from Washington High School.

After graduation, Gary began his career with Rock Island Railroad, in Kansas City. In 1990, he and his wife, Patricia, moved to Bolivar, Missouri, where he worked for the Springfield Police Department. Following his retirement, the couple settled in Sunrise Beach, where Gary enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with family and friends.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia; his sons, Eric (and wife Lisa) and Lance (and wife Christina); his daughter, Tricia; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

To honor Gary, a Celebration of Life will be held Friday November 1st at 4:00 P.M. at Smiths Restaurant Bolivar Mo.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
