Gary Gordon Lancaster, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, at his residence in Fair Play, Missouri, at the age of 72. He was born on December 9, 1951, in Springfield, Illinois. Gary joined the United States Navy on August 15, 1972.
During his time in Galveston, TX, he was a Manager of the Woodlands Hotel, where he got to meet many celebrities. When he moved to Freeport, TX, Gary dedicated many years of his life to his work in rice production, specifically with American Rice, Inc. He worked in the Quality Control Department; His skill and dedication to his craft were evident in the quality of his work and the relationships he formed with his colleagues. He met his beloved wife, Lisa, in early 2005 and they married on December 18, 2005, at Surfside, TX. Gary and Lisa enjoyed many years together, and moved to Fair Play, MO, to be near their children.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Lancaster; their children: Gary, Laurie, Louisa, Patricia, and Felicia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Gary’s warmth, sense of humor, and strong work ethic will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Gordon and Colleen Lancaster.
A Celebration to honor Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at the family home at 18802 S. 2001 Road, Fair Play, MO 65649. Friends and family are welcome to come together to celebrate his life and share their cherished memories of Gary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster Family c/o Pitts Chapel.
All services have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri.
