Gary Grant West, 67, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 in Cox Medical South, Springfield, Missouri. Gary was born July 12, 1954 at Larned, Kansas. Gary was a District Supervisor for Pizza Hut, and was employed for 25 years. He also was employed by O’Reilly Automotive for 4 years. Gary was married to Mary Kathryn West, April 11, 1980 in Hays, Kansas.
Gary attended Wichita State, where he played basketball for 3 years, Fort Hays State, and Missouri State University where he graduated with a degree in Accounting. Gary attended the Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and University of Kansas Jayhawks. His most important interest in is life was spending time with his family, friends and his fur babies.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Shannon, father, Garold Grant West, brother-in-law, Sherman, and step-father, Mike Shannon; two nieces, Theresa Gilbert and Michelle Jones; and a brother-in-law, Bill Burwell. Gary is survived by his wife Mary Kathryn West (Kathy), 3 daughters, Shannon (Travis) Vassar, Aimee Hanners, and Monique (Lance) Koerner. Sisters, Diane Robertson and Sandy West. Nieces and nephews, Barbie Vernon, Brenda DelMonte, Jeanette Wilds, Jim and Jon West, James Robertson, Emily and Josh Willson, Mark Burwell, Jock Burwell, Bobbie Stark and Tara Rowland. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Ami, Shaylan, Ian, Liam, Riley, Emma, Seamus, Tiernan, Remy, and Vivianne.

Memorial services for Gary will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, 11:00 am, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 West Battlefield, Springfield. Burial will be at a later date at Union Valley Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.
