Gary J. Morgan of Springfield, MO passed away on Thursday October 27, 2016. Gary was born June 16, 1943 in Syracuse, New York to James W. and Winifred Burns Morgan.
Gary was raised in Skaneateles, New York where he graduated from high school. After high school he joined the National Guard serving his country.
Gary is survived by his three children son Chad and wife Kelly of Springfield, MO, his daughter Kirsten Morgan of Springfield, MO and his son Justin Morgan of Kansas City, KS. He is also survived by four brothers James and wife Kim, Thomas and wife Dianne, Russell Morgan, Peter Morgan and wife Courtney; two sisters Winifred Sheldon and Debbie Weathers and husband Greg; three beautiful grandchildren Carson, Campbell and Crosby Morgan and several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his brother Craig.
After leaving the military Gary was employed by Inland Supply in Syracuse, NY. In 1968 He took a position as Manager of Bethlehem Plumbing in Bethlehem, PA. He managed that store for five years before moving to Salina, KS. In 1973 to own his own business, Morgan Supply. He operated that business for 25 years, opening branches in Colby, Emporia and Garden City.
Growing up Gary and his family were actively involved in showing horses, traveling the country to participate in shows. His love for horses led him to buy a farm east of Salina that was named “Circle M Ranch.”
Gary was also an avid golfer participating in many tournaments. He was a member of the Salina Country Club. Gary Greatest love was for his children. He sold his business to spend quality time with each one of them. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East in Springfield, MO. A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Ryan Mortuary in Salina, KS.
