Gerald Dean Dornan, 81, of Fair Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in Bolivar, Missouri. Gerald was born Saturday, January 4, 1941, in Buffalo, Missouri to Elster and Rosa (Campbell) Dornan.
Gerald attended Pleasant Hope High School all but 2 weeks of his Senior year; he did go back and get his GED. He and Nancy Jean Walters were married November 1, 1958, in Tin Town, Missouri.
Gerald retired in 1991 from Kraft Foods as a Maintenance/Sanitation Welder in Springfield, Missouri after 20 years of service.
Gerald’s hobbies and interests were automobiles, fishing, gardening, grandkids, cake decorating, reading, and learning. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and a long-standing member of True Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents: Elster and Rosa (Campbell) Dornan; two half-brothers: Glenn Smith and Lloyd Smith; two half-sisters: Mildred (Smith) Johnson and Levina (Dornan) Nutter; daughter-in-law; Alice (Fain) Dornan; 3 half-nephews and some nieces, father-in-law, and mother-in-law.
Gerald is survived by his wife: Nancy Jean Dornan; three sons: James Dean Dornan and wife Trang Diem H Dornan (Gina), Martin Lane Dornan, and David Trent Dornan and wife Rainy (Lorraine) Ersel Dornan; fourteen grandchildren: Hoang Tach Le, Gina Rapp, Raymond Sohns, Kenneth Lee Sohns, Samantha Leeper, David Vert, William Dornan, Jazlin Vert, Robin Vert, Trent Dornan, Travis Dornan, Mythias Dornan, Ambrosia Dornan and TJ Fuller; five great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 North National Avenue, Springfield, Missouri. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, 12084 North Farm Road 221, Fair Grove, Missouri 65648.
