Gertrude Lucille “Lucy” Rogers, age 88, of Springfield, MO, passed into glory on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at The Montclair Senior Living Center in Springfield. She was surrounded by her friends and family as she made her final journey to her heavenly home.
Lucy was born on February 28, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin Scott and Anna Mae (Scott) Burney; four brothers: William Scott, Jackson Scott, Ralph Scott, and Elmer Scott; three sisters: Mary Louise Scott, Velma Margaret Scott, and Willa Mae McKinney.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Ronald Lee, of 18 years; her children: George (Cathy) Hamilton of Battlefield, and Karen Burk of Nixa; six stepchildren: Ronda Rogers, Terry Rogers, and Deonna (Mark) Bass, all of Springfield; Nancy (Jim) West of Joplin; Linda (Chuck) Collins of Springfield; Wayne (Sherry) Taylor of Willard; brother Jerry (Connie) Scott of Springfield; sisters-in-law: Joan Scott of Springfield, and Suzanne Scott of Buffalo. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lucy graduated from Strafford High School in 1955, where she enjoyed her time as a majorette. She retired from Commerce Bank in Springfield after 24 years of service as a bank teller and loan officer.
Lucy loved dancing, playing the slots at numerous casinos, and traveling throughout the United States. She loved playing cards with her friends at The Montclair and spending time with family.
A celebration of life will be held on January 5, 2026, at the Greenlawn North Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM, and the celebration service at 2:00 PM. Graveside service will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Garden.
