Gheorghe Taranu 74, Springfield, Mo. passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 in his home, after a long illness. He was born in Giurgiu, Romania on June 14, 1943. He was a Romanian Army veteran. He and his family moved to America 20 years ago. He was retired from Bass Pro Shops. He was a member of the Grace Romanian Pentecostal Church.
Gheorghe was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife Ruxandra, four daughters and one son, 20 grandchildren, and one sister.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
