Ginny Elora Curtis was a bright light who graced our lives with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering spirit. Born on December 5, 2000, in Springfield, MO, Ginny brought joy to her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. It is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing on November 16, 2023.
Ginny’s journey through life was marked by love, compassion, and a healthy dose of dancing. She cherished time spent with friends and loved ones, trips to the river, and adventures with her beloved dog, Milo. Ginny leaves behind her mother, Karalee Curtis; her brothers, Chris Ackerson, Kyle Ackerson, and Taylor Curtis; and her sisters, Kasey Kersey and Ruth Briones Chavez.
Ginny truly cared for her friends and family, always looked for the good in others, and never met a stranger. To know her was to know unwavering love, kindness, and joy. Even in death Ginny gave to others – choosing to be a tissue donor to help save the lives of people who she will never meet. Though we mourn her passing, we are all better for having known her, and in her memory we should all strive to live with the same genuine love for others that she had.
A visitation service will be held to celebrate Ginny’s remarkable life. Join us between 1:00-3:00 pm on Friday, November 24th at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield Rd., Springfield, MO 65807. We will gather to remember Ginny, share stories of her kindness, joy, and laughter, and take stock of the impression she has left on each one of us. Those who knew Ginny know that she loved being comfortable, so please come as you are.
