It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gladys Mae (Richards) Reynolds, born on May 3, 1926, in Caton, New York to Earl and Charlotte (Hemley) Richards. Gladys passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri, from natural causes.
Gladys was united in marriage to the love of her life, Frank Reynolds, on June 15, 1946. They welcomed five sons Daniel, Stephen, Timothy, Mark, and Thomas. Her family was her biggest priority, and she loved being a wife and mother.
Gladys and her husband Frank pioneered/pastored several churches in New Jersey and New York, and they worked extensively with the Teen Challenge organization for many years.
Gladys was also a dedicated member of Evangel Temple in Springfield, MO, where her faith and compassion shone brightly. She found solace in her Bible, sharing her beliefs with others, and cherishing moments with her Evangel Temple Ladies’ Prayer Group. Known for her love of order and beauty, Gladys found joy in painting, honing her skills and creating beauty through her art. Above all, she will be remembered for her selflessness and unwavering devotion to helping those around her. Her loved ones remember fondly how she was a part of this world, but not of this world.
Gladys was welcomed into heaven by her parents, her husband, Frank, and two sons, Daniel and Thomas.
She is survived by her loving sons, Timothy Reynolds, Mark Reynolds, and Stephen Reynolds; her sister, Anna Moe; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Gladys’s life will be held at Evangel Temple, Springfield, MO on August 10, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, there will be a Visitation at the church at 10:00 am on the same day. She will be laid to rest next to Frank in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO.
