Gladys M. Ryan, 88, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away January 23, 2010. She was born in San Juan, Texas, on October 7, 1921.
Gladys was a graduate of Eldora High School, Eldora, Iowa, in 1939. She was married to Orlan A. Ryan on September 2, 1946, in St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Eldora, Iowa. She was a homemaker and active in her church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlan Ryan, in 1999; and son Jeffrey Ryan, in 2004.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Easton, Davenport, Iowa; great-grandson Parker Easton, Davenport, Iowa; brother Robert and wife, Jeanette Ziesman, Des Moines, Iowa; sister Eloise Cobie, West Des Moines, Iowa; niece Diane Bradley, West Des Moines, Iowa; and many close friends.
Visitation will be held in Messiah Lutheran Church, 925 E. Seminole, Springfield, Mo., on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, from 9 to 10 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. A private family burial service will follow in National Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
