Glen Edwin Owen, Jr., age 91 of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in his home. Glen was born to Glen Owen, Sr. and Frances Owen in Springfield, MO on May 21, 1934. He was united in marriage to Helen Owen on May 25, 2011, in Springfield, MO. Glen proudly served in the United States Air Force and Navy.
Glen was preceded in death by his father Glen Owen, Sr., his mother Frances Owen, and a grandson Stephen Terrell. He is survived by his spouse Helen Owen, sister Carol Lanham of Overland Park, KS, daughter Elisabeth Williams (husband Norman), son Michael Owen (wife Amy), and daughter Sandra Terrell (husband Danny Terrell, Sr.). Glen is also survived by and super proud of his grandchildren Alicia, April, Michael Jr., Danielle, Matthew, Nicholas, Danny Jr., Dustin, and Dylan. He also has 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Glen was a proud long haul truck driver for over 40 years, logging over 3 million miles. Not wanting to retire, he opened Owen Tie Yard in 1984. He tried retirement again 20 years later, with it only lasting 2 months before he opened Owen Rentals. Glen developed many business relationships over the years that turned into friendships that he truly cherished. Glen believed in hard work and was working 6 days a week until 2 weeks before his death. He was a long-time member of Charity Baptist Church.
