Glenn Dale Crossland, age 71, of Blue Springs MO was called home Friday, November 19, 2021, in Kansas City MO.
Glenn was born on May 12th, 1950, in Rogersville MO, he was the son of Harvey and Doshie Crossland. Glenn was united in marriage to Deborah Norton on March 27th, 1970. Glenn was a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran. He served his country proudly from July 15th, 1970, to February 14th, 1972, when he was honorably discharged. Thanks to his brother-in-law Lee Robinson for making him into a shade tree mechanic. He drove semi-trucks for 13 years. Glenn retired with 26+ years’ service as a Motorist Assist with the Missouri Department of Transportation helping those in need. Glenn was blessed with the talent of being able to repair ANYTHING with his hands. He NEVER called a repairman. Glenn loved to deer hunt & fish, especially spoonbill! Glenn enjoyed playing golf and building his own hot rod cars. Glenn could always be found under a hood or behind the wheel of a hot rod car challenging all riders to grab the cash off the dash game, which he seldom lost! Some of his favorite pastimes were playing Canasta with his sister Carol & brother-in-law Lee Robinson, brother Dean & sister-in-law Ruth Crossland & cousins Gerry & Bonnie Thomlinson. Glenn loved cherry chocolates & orange slice candies and his favorite meal was barbecued ribs, his most favorite desserts were lemon lush made by his mother-in-law Nora Norton & pineapple pie made by Aunt Ruth Hill. His greatest passion was his family, whom he loved dearly. He took his grandson Braydan to & from school daily. The grandchildren spent time with their grandparents nearly every weekend. One of his favorite sayings was, quote, “I’m not good and I’m not bad, but I get Christmas cards from both”, then he would chuckle! He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The memories made with him will be treasured forever in our hearts.
Glen was preceeded in death by his parent, Harvey & Doshie Crossland; siblings, Helen, David, Robert, Charles, Carol & Dean Crossland.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah E Crossland, Children: Cashie, Ransom, Billy & Sarah Crossland; grand children: Blake & Kylee Brown, Brendan, Angel, Dallas, Braydan & Brooklyn; great grandson Nolan Brown; Sisters: Della Glidewell & Beverly Ruth McMasters & several nieces & nephews.
