A celebration of life gathering for Harlan Mitchell (Mitch) Keirsey will be held at Integrity Hills Chapel located at 280 Integrity Hills Dr, Ridgedale, MO 65739 on Friday, April 28th 2023. We will have a Visitation at 1:00pm and the Funeral Service at 2:00pm.
Mitch Keirsey was born to Harlan and Ann Keirsey on August 9th, 1955 in Clinton, MO. Mitch started performing as a teenager, playing in bands when he was in high school and college. During his college years he and his band, Jobe, had a record deal with A&M Records; the same management/record company as Ozark Mountain Daredevils. He went on to have his own rock bands, playing six nights a week in clubs, and doing concerts. After moving to Branson, MO, he performed in several area shows playing guitar, keys, drums, bass and singing. After working with the Hee Haw show when it opened a theater in Branson, he went on to play a variety of gigs and music, touring with artist such as Bo Didley, Chubby Checker, Ray Price, and Roy Clark to name a few. He toured the U.S. and Europe with the reunion of Bill Haleys Original Comets. He owned and operated a recording studio and produced many national and international releases, including albums for Warner Curb Records, U.K. Mitch spent a lot of time in Nashville doing song writing and was a published ASCAP songwriter. He performed on television shows such as 60 minutes, Good Morning America, Regis and Kathy Lee, PBS Television, RFD TV, and The Grand Old Opry. Mitch taught at the School of Rock in Springfield, MO for seven years and continued to teach privately. He loved being able to share what he learned about all aspects of music with his students. He closed his career with a gig that he said he loved the most; playing for guests at The Worman House and Top of the Rock at Big Cedar Lodge.
Mitch went to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 at 8:30pm at home surrounded by his wife and children at the age of 67.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Keirsey.
Left to cherish Mitch’s memories are his mother, Ann Keirsey; wife, Gail Keirsey; children, Kayla Keirsey and Ryan Keirsey; siblings, Suzanne Strickland, and Michael Keirsey; and all his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews.
