Herbert Wade Walters, 87, departed this life to the arms of Jesus on March 25, 2014. He was born March 14, 1927, Laquey, MO., to Florence Louise and Paui Wendell Walters.At a young age he moved to Springfield with his mom. Upon her death, he resided with his sister, Hazel McTeer, and family. He worked at Red’s Giant Hamburg on Route 66 with “Red” and Julia Chaney and at the Springfield Workshop. Later, the family moved to the farm where he kept busy on the “Fancy M” dairy goat ranch for many years.Herbert is survived by his two nephews, Kenneth McTeer and James McTeer & their families, other family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hazel; cousin, Roy Clark; and other family members. He and his cousin touched the hearts of many, and if you could have known Herbert, you would have appreciated his view of the world. Graveside services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in White Chapel Cemetery.
