Holly Ann Gregory Lambert, 54, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 24, 2023. She was born in Springfield, MO to Thomas Gregory II and Debbie (Denby) Chrisman on December 29, 1968.
Holly attended Strafford schools and was involved in basketball, track, cheer, and the drama club. She earned a spot on the collegiate cheer squad during her time at Drury University. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and a dedicated Sigma Nu little sister.
Holly had a heart of gold and genuinely cared about people. Her desire to help others led her to pursue a career in Nursing. She graduated from Burge School of Nursing in 1992. She continued her education and graduated from Missouri State University in 1999 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Holly had a diverse nursing career and specialized in Intensive Care, Gynecologic Oncology and Behavioral Health for Adults and Youth. Holly’s true passion was working with and advocating for people struggling with mental health issues.
Holly was a Captain in the United States Army Reserves and completed her officer training at Fort Campbell, KY. She was honorably discharged in 2003.
In 2000, Holly married John Lambert and was blessed with two bonus children, Grayson, and McKinley. In 2002, their family expanded when Holly gave birth to Joshua “Bigs” Lambert. Holly was an adoring and devoted mom. She was involved in every aspect of their lives. She was a Boy Scout mom, she was always in the stands cheering the kids on, and she loved boating, jet skiing and tubing with the family at the lake. Out of all of Holly’s roles and accomplishments being a mom was the one she valued above all else.
On September 15, 2012, Holly’s world changed forever when a tragic accident claimed the lives of Josh, Grayson, McKinley, and their father John Lambert. The loss of her family was devastating and impacted the entire community. Despite suffering profound loss, her heart stayed strong and her attitude positive. Holly did her best to honor the kids by surrounding herself with love and living with joy and purpose. The following years she filled her days counseling others, crafting beautiful wreaths, spending time outdoors and on the water, attending concerts, and traveling. What she treasured most was the time she shared with family and friends.
Holly enjoyed music, singing and dancing. She loved supporting live music and was a regular at local shows and large concert venues. Her presence and energy took any event to the next level. Holly didn’t know a stranger. Her infectious smile, warm personality and big hugs made everyone feel seen and loved. She always had a kind word and uplifting thought to share. Holly was an inspiration and left us with a legacy of love, hope and peace to carry on.
Holly is preceded in death by her parents, Debbie, and Thomas; her son, Josh, stepson, Grayson and stepdaughter, McKinley.
