It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Irene Antoinette Atwood, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Irene was born on February 1, 1929, in Tyngsborough, MA. to Edward and Marjorie Langlois and peacefully departed from this world on September 26, 2024 in Ash Grove, MO. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Julius Atwood and her daughter, Julie Dorris She leaves behind her devoted daughter Charlene, Raley-Adams, and her husband Wayne Adams of TX, and caring son-in-law: Jerry Dorris, of MO. six grandchildren: Tom, Steven, Renita and Kevin, and Hannah and Andrew, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
Irene was retired. Reflecting on Irene’s life, one sees a woman of remarkable strength, kindness, and grace. Her warm smile and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Irene’s memory will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
A Graveside Service to honor Irene’s life will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, near Aldrich, MO on Monday September 30, 2024, at 1:30 pm. Memorial donations are suggested to Amazing Facts.
In celebrating Irene’s life, we remember the love she shared, the wisdom she imparted, and the joy she brought to all those around her. As we gather to bid farewell, let us hold onto the cherished memories we shared with her. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
