James Allen Whitehead, 82, of Springfield, MO was born September 1, 1939 and went to see Jesus his Lord and Savior on September 22, 2021. He was born to Clara Della and Orville Rue Whitehead and was one of six children, five of them being sisters; Virginia Lee, Shirley Ann, Mary Louise, Carolyn Sue and Janie LaRue.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Helen, his parents, Clara and Orville, sisters Virginia, Carolyn and Janie. He is survived by his son Michael James, two sisters, Shirley Ann Robinson of Searcy, AR and Mary Louise Schildknecht of Omaha, AR. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Paul Schildknecht, his sister-in-law Carol Beard of Republic, MO, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

James graduated from Parkview High School in Springfield, MO in 1958 and followed with a career in plumbing in the Springfield area. He filled his older years with church activities, and enjoyed helping out at the Fair Haven Children’s Home thrift store located in Springfield. He also enjoyed fishing and taking walks at the Springfield Botanical Gardens, and visiting his family in AR.  James will be missed by his family and many friends and neighbors.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. No viewing or visitation is planned.
