Mr. James “Jim” E. Rea, age 62, of Halfway, MO, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009, in his home following a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born April 19, 1947, in Ottawa, KS, to John and Cleda (Smith) Rea. He is a US Navy Veteran having served in Viet Nam. Jim worked for Champion Brands in Clinton, MO, for over 24 years, he was dedicated to his work and appreciated all the benefits and acts of kindness shown to him over the years. Jim loved children and animals of all kinds.
His father and his second wife Tina Rea precede him in death.
He is survived by his mother Cleda Rea of Homewood, KS; a sister Cathy Swaim and her husband Steve of Ottawa, KS; two brothers: Gary D. Rea and his wife Helen of Homewood, KS, and Steven D. Rea and his wife Cindy of Williamsburg, KS; his companion Sharon Mead of the home; his dog Bruiser; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
According to James’ wishes his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2009, in the Community Center of Williamsburg, KS.
