It is with great sadness the family of James “Jimmy Don” Harrington passed away November 6, 2024, at the age of 69. Jim will be missed by so many but most of all the love of his life and wife of 46 years Dixie Harrington. His two daughters that thought he was the greatest man they ever knew. Tyler Baxley and husband Glenn and Jessica Janeway and husband Eric. Jim had 5 grandkids that he adored and was so proud of, Layla Janeway, Garrett, Brett, Bowen and Creek Baxley. Jim had three siblings, Tim and wife Ali (son Corey) Patrick and wife Kim (sons William and Preston) and Pam (children, Christopher, Jennifer, Zachary and Jamie). Jim was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Pat Harrington and sister Pam Robinson. When you talked to Jim these were the people you would hear about the most. Family was everything to Jim. He never met a stranger that by the end of the conversation he would have made a connection with you somehow.
Jim was a businessman; he was a master on the grill and loved to feed people. Jim was most proud of being a Shiner. He had a passion for helping people and that is what he always did. Jim was not a rich man but what he had was yours. If you hear Hagger, JD or Jimmy Don everyone knows who you’re talking about. They truly broke the mold with him.
A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Tuesday November 12, 2024, Service starts at 3:00 PM with a Memorial Visitation to follow
