James Everett “Jim” Deal aka Nasty Daddy, age 72 of Halfway, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in his home.  He was born January 4, 1950, in St. Joseph, MO, to Keith E. and Irene (Foster) Deal.  He graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph the Class of ‘68.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and served in Vietnam and discharged in ’72 as a Cpl.

          He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising gardens, and the outdoors in general.  He was a hard worker and would not stop until the job was done.  He was an over the road truck driver with over 4 million miles accident-free.  He had many riding buddies, but he loved his dog Lyric the most.  He enjoyed telling ridiculous stories and playing jokes.  He loved his family above all.

          He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Juanita; and a son Sam Deal.

          Jim is survived by four children: Jamie Zinn (Robert) of Mt. Vernon, TX, Dawn Pottenger (Chris) of Havre, MT, Lois Deal (Terrence) of La Plata, MD, and Joseph Deal (Baylee) of Springfield, MO; 12 grandchildren: Brittany, Shelby, Katie, Ben, Jacob, Sylas, Miles, Chloe, Gabriel, TT, Sariah, and Saylor; four great grandchildren: Kayden, Kason, Frankie, and Eli; one brother Dan Deal and two sisters: Candy DeClue, and Vicki Wells; as well as many other relatives and friends.

          Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Pitts Chapel.  Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Austin Cemetery Archie, MO.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2022, in the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
