James Leon Robertson, Jr., of Marshfield, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 80 after a long illness.
James was born on January 7, 1945, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to James Leon Robertson, Sr. and Bessie (Helms) Robertson. He was the eldest of three children. He met and married the love of his life, Ethel Faye (Montfort) Robertson on April 1, 1967 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. To this union they had two sons. The family moved to Missouri in 1981 where the family settled.
James spent many years as a truck driver, which he loved. He transported nearly everything: cabbage, fuel, strawberries, bananas, boxes, roll paper, and finally automobiles. After spending nearly 32 years on the road, an unfortunate accident forced him into retirement. He spent the remaining years of his life going to garage sales, RV trips, fishing, looking for bargains, and finding any excuse to get in the car and go.
He was especially proud of his grandchildren, loved his dogs, and enjoyed making friends and commenting on Facebook.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Connie, all of Benton, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel, of the home, his son, J.L. Robertson (Shelly) of Strafford, Missouri, his son, Greg Robertson (Renee) of Strafford, Missouri, his brother, Jimmy Robertson (Merry Lee) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, his granddaughter Mattilyn Choate (Jordan) of Rogersville, Missouri, grandson, Gage Robertson of Springfield, Missouri, grandson, John Hilburn (Brittney) of Springfield, Missouri, grandson, Adam Hilburn of Springfield, Missouri, and great-grandchildren: Tyson, Colton (Harlie), Ashton, Jaxon, Chloe, Bryce, Mason, and Natalie.
