Janet Lynn Bumgarner, 63, passed from this life into eternal life on Wednesday, June 10th, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
Janet was born on August 12th, 1957 in Springfield, Missouri to Amos, and Iva Jo Duckworth. She was raised alongside her sister Janice, and graduated from high school in 1975 from Pleasant Hope.
Janet married Jerry Bumgarner in 1977 and facilitated the beginning of their family business by purchasing the first of many dump trucks. She spent the majority of her professional career keeping the books, running the office, and making sure Jerry was in line.
Janet’s true calling, and what brought her the most happiness, was being a mother and grandmother. Her face lit up upon seeing the grandkids and she never hesitated to sit on the floor to play with a train set or tractor. Furthermore, Janet was a mother to all who needed her to be. The friends of her sons were treated as her own and benefitted from Janet’s enormous heart. She always welcomed them into her home, treated them as family, and gave all her heart she could offer. Janet also enjoyed gardening and landscaping, laughing, spending time with her dogs, and listening to country music and classic rock and roll.
Janet was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend to many people. Janet will be remembered for her selflessness, contagious laughter, wit, playful banter, tenacity, and most of all, her ability to love without restraint. Her family will continue to love deeply, as she provided the best example of pouring her love into others.
Janet was preceded in death by her grandparents Clarence and Dorothy Fausett and Raymond and Lula Mae Duckworth, her uncles, Bill Bruffett and Gene Fausett, and sister, Janice Ann Smith. She is survived by her parents, Amos and Iva Jo Duckworth; husband, Jerry Bumgarner; sons, Jeremy Bumgarner (Josie Bumgarner) and Derek Bumgarner (Hannah Bumgarner); grandchildren, Makayla Wells, Xavier Bumgarner, Mack Bumgarner, and Kam Bumgarner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends
