It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Kendall Hilton, a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather and friend, who departed this earth on November 27, 2024, at the age of 66. Born June 22, 1958 in Springfield, MO, Jeff was a lifelong resident of this community that he cherished and a graduate of Hillcrest High School, Class of 1976.
Jeff dedicated his working life to the trade of plumbing, finding his professional home at Poindexter Mechanical. He retired as a mechanical and plumbing inspector for the City of Springfield. Known for his skillful hands and unwavering work ethic, he earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Leaving a lasting impact on the lives he touched through his profession.
Jeff enjoyed being a father and grandfather the most in life. He loved supporting his grandkids and their talents. You could often find him at one of their events, cheering his grandson on at his baseball games or admiring his granddaughter’s artwork. He also loved to go fishing and cruising in his Corvette. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed driving a stock car with his brother.
Jeff is lovingly remembered by his mother, Reuelene Hilton and his children Justin (Lindsey) Hilton, Jeremy (Krista) Hilton, Ricky (Deborah) Hilton, Stephani Ortiz and AJ Ortiz. He is a proud grandfather to Levi Hilton, Kendall Hilton and Lexi Hilton who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother Gary (Stephanie) Hilton, his nephews Jason (Laura) Hilton and Brian (Lindsay) Hilton, along with a host of extended family and also friends who have become family. His warmth and laughter will be missed by all.
Jeff was preceded in death by: his father, Gary Hilton and son, Andrew Hilton.
A graveside service honoring Jeff’s life will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on December 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects. A Celebration of Life will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel after the graveside service.
Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
