Jerry Bay Haden passed away Saturday, July 15, at the age of 84. He was a lifetime resident of Springfield, MO. Jerry was born March 20, 1939, to Charlie Louie and Eva M. Bay Haden at the Baptist Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was an only child.
Jerry was a past member of First Baptist Church, Springfield, and became a Catholic, March 6, 2005. Jerry was an avid music lover. He was active in music circles, played the piano, and sang with St. Agnes choir. Jerry was also a cantor, a member of the Seniors Unlimited, and the Centennial Committee at St. Agnes. Jerry attended and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Springfield.
Jerry also loved antiques and antique cars. He had many friends who shared the same likes and was a member of the Springfield Collector’s Club. Without hesitation, Jerry delighted in sharing his home and antiques with those who were interested. His desire to do so impressed others to share their treasures as well. Most importantly, however, were the friendships that developed and lasted for years. He will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he has touched.
He is survived by his many cousins and friends.
Family and friends will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North, Springfield, Missouri. On Thursday, July 20, 2023, A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Springfield, Missouri, with burial to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield.
