It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Glen Glasgow Sr., who departed this world on March 23, 2025, in Nixa, Missouri, at the age of 79. Born on November 26, 1945, in Hillsboro, Texas, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Army from January 30, 1964, including fighting as a paratrooper in Special Forces, 101st Airborne, in Vietnam, until his discharge on December 18, 1966. He carried the values of honor and commitment throughout his life, traits that were reflected in both his professional career and his personal relationships. A skilled Service Technician at Hobart in the manufacturing industry, Jerry was known for his meticulous work ethic. In his free time, Jerry particularly enjoyed stock car racing.
In 1986, Jerry found his soulmate, Cheryl (Talley), during a bowling league in Beaumont, Texas. They would eventually get married in April of 1988. Their connection was instant, and their bond deepened with each passing year. Jerry and Cheryl shared a remarkable partnership that endured the test of time until Cheryl’s passing in 2024. Jerry and Cheryl always took care of everyone around them, often donating to charities, and where deeply devoted to their Christian faith. Their love was a beacon of devotion and strength that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew them.
Jerry will be laid to rest with full military honors at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO, at 1:00 PM. This sacred ceremony will honor his service to our country and the indelible mark he leaves in the hearts of those he loved.
