Jessie L. (Cantrell) Seavers passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025.  She was born to Ollie Bee (Needham) Cantrell and Albert Sidney Cantrell on August 29, 1942, in Milan, TN.  She was united in marriage to John T. Seavers Jr. in 1962 and had three children, John T III, Kimberly, and Tamara Seavers.

Jessie retired from Trane after more than 30 years, where she served as the Service and Financial Administrator.  Jessie took great pride in her family, especially her husband and puppy boy, Oliver Pockets. Jessie and John maintained a playful flirtation throughout their marriage until his passing, and their love for each other was evident to all who saw them together, both in person and in photos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, their son, her brother Charles, four sisters Peggy, Ann, Betty, and Paula, as well as her parents.

She is survived by her puppy, Oliver; daughters Kim Short (husband Mike) and Tamie Brandenburg; and nine grandchildren: (Kim’s children): Tyler Short, Kaitlyn Short, Chris Short, Makara Payne; (Tamie’s children) Tayler Brandenburg and Sydney Dove (husband David). (Johnny’s girls), Christina Nichole, Lisa Seavers, Amber Strawn (husband Troy), and her sister, Ruth Burns.  She is also survived by her angel, Edna Dean, who was like family for over 51 years.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
