Jim Edward Jeffrey, 75, of Toronto, Kansas, passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 31, 2025. Born on August 14, 1949, Jim brought laughter, loyalty, and a spark of mischief wherever he went. Known for his quick wit and endless jokes, Jim had a way of making everyone around him smile — and think twice before taking anything too seriously.
Jim proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, fighting in the Vietnam War. He faced health challenges related to his service with quiet strength and resilience.
Above all, Jim was a devoted husband and father who took great joy in playing with and teaching his children throughout their lives. His patience, wisdom, and playful spirit helped shape the people they became, leaving a lasting legacy of love and guidance.
He found his greatest joy in the outdoors, especially at “the farm,” where he spent countless days hunting, fishing, and sharing drinks around a bonfire with family and friends. He also deeply cherished the quiet, meaningful moments spent with his beloved wife of 45 years, Connie — his partner through every season of life.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Illa May Jeffrey. He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Jo Jeffrey; his children, Trisha Jeffrey (wife Amy Jeffrey) and Bryan Jeffrey; his cherished grandsons, Haydn Hall and Gavyn Jeffrey; and a cousin, Aladeen Baker, who was more like a sister. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his humor, his heart, and his unshakable spirit.
His parting words were always simple and full of love: “Love you, see you, bye bye.” A gentle goodbye that will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home – East.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Isabel’s House, 2750 W. Bennett St., Springfield, MO 65802
