Jimmy Robert Coffelt, longtime Taney county resident, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, May 3, 2023 at 78 years of age. He departed this world at his home surrounded by loved ones and joined a host of long-missed family and friends at the pearly gates.
The son of the late James and Margie Coffelt, Jim Bob was born on January 23, 1945 in Hollister Missouri and spent the majority of his life in his beloved Ozark Hills.
Jim Bob was an expert carpenter, building beautiful log homes and amazing unique furniture. He was a Jack of all trades, owning a trail ride, playing a baldknober in the Shepherd of the Hills, serving his country as an Army Ranger, training horses for himself and others and cooking for family and friends.
He loved carpentry like his father, cooking like his mother, horses like his heroes in the westerns and these beautiful Ozark hills that always brought him back, no matter how far he had traveled.
Jim Bob is survived by his wife, Shawn Coffelt, of Rueter, Missouri, and his children: James and Jamie Coffelt of Cushing, Oklahoma; Robert and Sherri Coffelt of Berryville, Arkansas; Jacob and Ashleigh Coffelt of Kirbyville, Missouri; Jessica and Heath Silvey of Nixa, Missouri; JJ Coffelt of Branson, Missouri; Joel and Dana Coffelt of Kirbyville, Missouri; Tonya and Kody Dowell of Pierce City, Missouri; and Dalton Coffelt of Rueter, Missouri; his sisters Raye Webb of Omaha, Arkansas; Etta and Dwain Webb of Hollister, Missouri; and Joan and Junior Lasseter of Oak Grove, Arkansas. Jim Bob is survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 12 nieces and nephews. Jim Bob is preceded in death by his parents, James and Margie Coffelt of Hollister, Missouri; his brothers Gordon, Jerry and Tommy Coffelt, and an infant sister.
Jim Bob was a man of faith, who loved the Lord and his family, a man full of stories, an amateur chef, and a man loved by all who knew him. He will be missed, but leaves us all with many fond memories and a lifetime of stories and laughter.
