My wife and I offer our deepest condolences to the Hoggard family. We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear today that our Papa Tom (as we often called him) had passed away since 08/19/2021. Papa Tom, memories of our times with you will stay with us forever. We did not know you for a long time but you touched our lives in many ways. We saw in you, profound humility and a deep love for the Lord. We recall how you would drive a long way to get to Church even on days with poor winter conditions. You were one of the Church members we counted on at all times. Unless circumstances didn't allow, you were present at all Church meetings. You were a generous giver to your GOD. While in Missouri, with your deteriorating health, you would still send an offering to the Church. Papa Tom, we will miss you very much. But we remember your words to us, the last time we spoke and here's part of what you said "The Lord has been so good to me...if I die today, I won't regret it". Papa Tom, we are persuaded that you have entered into your rest with the LORD, for the Scriptures say "...Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them" [Revelation 14:13, KJV]. I had the pleasure of getting to know Joel and his wife many years ago when my son and their daughter married. He was a good man and I will miss not being able to visit with him at family gatherings. I do know he was like a father to my son and will be missed by many. He will live on in the hearts of his loved ones till they one day meet again. May you rest in peace Joel!
