John David Allen, 55 years old, passed away Saturday, September 25, in his home after a sudden illness. John aka Johnny, as his family and some friends called him, was born June 28, 1966, to Jack and Mary (Black) Allen.  He lived on and operated the Century Farm that had been in his family since 1874.  He graduated from Strafford High

I met John a few years back at a workshop and my first impression was that he was an intelligent person who I could trust. Plus, we had the common bond of being outdoory and crazy distance runners! I had the pleasure of working with him this spring and he was a leader within our group, and wow did he ever know his compliance matters! John will be missed and my heart breaks over his loss. Please accept my sincere thoughts and prayers and sincere condolences to John's family and friends.

John’s character was evident in the thoroughly responsible work he did for CU. He could be counted on in every circumstance and it was a pleasure to be his colleague and to find another Strafford guy at CU. John Black I am out of town and sorry to miss the services.

Over the past ten years I had the pleasure of working with John in several different utility industry working groups. He was very kind, knowledgeable and always willing to volunteer his time to the effort at hand. John wore a smile on his face and had a positive attitude, always looking for the best in people. He was my friend and I will miss him. My deepest condolences to his loved ones. Praying for God's comfort during this time of sorrow.
Terri Pyle (Oklahoma Gas and Electric) left a message on September 30, 2021:
John was one of the first people I met in the Utility industry in the various workshops and conferences we attended. I recall he had an unassuming manner. Over the years, as we continued to work together, it was clear that John knew a lot about the Utility business and was always willing to share that knowledge. Most of us considered him a mentor, but more importantly, a friend. He was kind, down-to-earth, and had a snarky sense-of-humor that made "work" pleasant. He was one of the most well-liked colleagues, a natural leader, and respected by all that worked with him. I am so saddened about his abrupt passing. I extend heartfelt condolences to John's family and friends. I know I am better for having known him. He will be missed.

I can't imagine how you are feeling. I know Johnny was the rock of your family. His love for God and family was immense. He had a wonderful sense of humor and our group gatherings at your house and our yearly group camps we did for several years were some of the best times of our lives. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. I pray God fills the holes left in your hearts. Johnny is running in God's country now. Love and Hugs
