John Keith McGrath Jr. was born November 24, 1960 in Springfield, Missouri, and passed away February 28, 2023. John graduated from Central high school and worked as an automotive service advisor for many years. He then joined the Missouri National Guard. John retired from the National Guard after 20 years of service, and during those 20 years, he also spent time as a DOD contractor.
John loved build race cars and race them. He always had beautiful race cars. John also loved to build motorcycles, grilling, barbeques, and he absolutely loved to play the guitar and drums.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Edith McGrath who passed April 17, 2013; and his aunt, Edna May Hazel Marie Deckard who passed November 3, 2012.
John is survived by his younger brother, Ronald M. McGrath; nephew, Christian L. McGrath; and nieces, Michelle I. McGrath, Karolina P. Gardine, Phoenix O. McGrath, and Gariella R. Gardine.
A visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 E Seminole St, Springfield, Missouri, at 1:00 p.m.
