Graveside services for John Raymond Rhodes age 76 of Branson West, Missouri will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Missouri Veteran Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri with full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
He died January 31, 2014 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo.
He was born on March 27, 1937 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma the son of Raymond and Ozell Rhodes. He was a veteran serving 13 years with the U. S. Navy and seven years with the U. S. Army. He was the the mayor of Branson West from 1998 until his death.
Survivors are his wife: Bridgette Palermo Rhodes of the home, one son, John Rhodes of Las Vegas, Nevada, a step-son: Danny Jaynes of Oswego, Illinois, five brothers: Terry Rhodes, Georgew Rhodes, Dan Rhodes, and Tommy Rhodes all of Oklahoma and Jim Rhodes of Bella Vista, Arkansas. One sister, Mary Ellen Dumm of Oklahoma, two grandchildren Diana and Spencer Rhodes and two step-grandchildren Rebecca and Andrew Jaynes. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
A reception will be held following the graveside services on Wednesday from 3:30 until 5:30 PM in the Branson West City Hall lower level.
