On Thursday, September 3, 2020, Jose R. Colon passed away peacefully in his home attended by his family. He was born in the village of Moca, Puerto Rico in 1935 and moved to Chicago, Illinois, as a teen. In Chicago, Jose attended art school and he worked as a gifted calligrapher all his life. He enjoyed painting, drawing, reading and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; daughters Maria Colon and Margie Colon; grandsons, Thomas and Zachary LaMarre; and granddaughter, Anna Toler.
He was a kind and gentle man who will be dearly missed.
