Julie was born November 16th, 1947, to Norman and Bette Maughmer in Savannah, MO. Julie grew up in Savannah, MO and then attended North Kansas City High School, where she met the love of her life, Martin.
After graduating H.S, Julie attended both Cottey College and the University of Missouri where she graduated with degrees in both Spanish and English.
Julie became a High School Spanish teacher, and left legacies behind in Liberty and Columbia, MO, Middletown, MD, and finished her 42-year career teaching at Parkview in Springfield, MO.
Julie was a lifelong member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a member of Glendale Christian Church and volunteered across multiple organizations and schools. She was also a Diamond Donor at the Community Blood Center.
Julie was also a devoted fan of the Chiefs, Royals, and Mizzou sports.
When Julie wasn’t helping others, or spending time with the grandkids and grandpuppies, she enjoyed feeding the birds, playing expert level Sudoku, crosswords, and reading on her Kindle.
Julie was known as the mother to all, the matriarch of the family, the first person to volunteer, the last person to leave and ultimately, the woman who knew when you needed help before you knew it. Her life impacted many.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Bette Maughmer and her brother-in-law Rick Clark.
She is survived by her husband, Martin MacDonald, her sons, Ryan (Vicki) and Scott (Laura), her loving grandchildren Mckenzie and Jameson, her brother John Maughmer (Jan), sister Barbara Clark and cousin Carol Butts (Jim). She also leaves behind numerous family that simply called her Aunt Julie.
