Karen Rae (Denney) Sager, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023. She was born on February 9, 1952 in Camp Carson, Colorado to Floyd and Norma (Westmoreland) Denney. She spent much of her early childhood in Taft, California with her maternal grandparents, Claude & Aline Westmoreland, whom she loved dearly.

She was the beloved wife of Terry Sager. They were the best of friends and married 31 years. Mother to Timothy Thornbury of Lebanon and Natalie (Sanwald) Ballard of Springfield. Sister to Michael Denney & Tony Denney. She leaves behind many other loved ones and friends, old and new.

She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1970. Later in life she moved to Illinois and had a successful career working as the Director of Operations for Central Illinois Neuro Health Sciences. She was an avid gardener and lover of nature. While in Illinois she obtained her Master Naturalist and Master Gardener certifications.

She had a smile that would light up a room and laugh to match. She enjoyed decorating, music, traveling, good food and taking care of her fur babies. Her favorite season was Fall and she loved going to Silver Dollar City at Christmas time. Her spirituality and kind heart were one in a million. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

As per her wish, she will be cremated and no service will be held.
