Miss you, Karl!

My children’s pastor and JBQ coach. Must have been around 28 years ago now. I can’t believe it’s been that long and that I haven’t seen you since. I also didn’t realize at the time just how young you were—just starting your ministry and likely still in college. You probably had no idea that behind all the misbehavior and shenanigans, we loved you. We never said it and never showed it. Yet you faithfully planted seeds for the kingdom of God that another would water, and still another would reap. RIP Karl. You did more for the kingdom of heaven than most of us combined. Great is your reward now and forever, faithful servant.

Thank you Karl for your dedication to teaching the Bible and for sharing your life with students! I'll never forget the year that you coached us over Hebrews and 1 & 2 Peter. You will be missed!

I truly count it a joy and privilege to have known Karl! He was very much a younger brother in Christ and genuinely a fine and outstanding man of God. The world was and continues to be blessed because he lived here.
Dave Davis left a message on April 14, 2025:
Thank you Karl for being such a great student, one who became a good friend through the years. It was my privilege to drink some coffee and catch up with you on what turned out to be your last day on earth. May we visit again in the future in the place where you are no longer suffering. And thank you for always paying it forward.
