Kathryn Campbell, 78, of Springfield, MO has passed from this life and joined her Lord and Savior in the Kingdom of Heaven on February 6, 2014. She will be reunited with her husband Euel of 55 years who preceded her in death in 2012.
She was born and raised on the family farm in Franklin, AR on December 25, 1935. After graduating high school from Violet Hill, AR she moved to Kansas City, MO. She attended business school and began working for Aetna. She shared a small apartment with her best friend Ellen Roberts. While living there she was introduced to the love of her life Euel. While only growing up 30 miles apart from each other in Arkansas they never met until Kansas City. Kathryn always claimed she would never marry a boy from Arkansas, but that’s exactly what she did.
After marriage they moved to Fayetteville, AR for Euel to attend the University of Arkansas. Upon his graduation they resided in Miami, OK and Moberly, MO before settling down in Springfield, MO in 1968. After raising her two children she began working for St. Johns Hospital in the lab office and retired after 14 years.
She held a strong belief in helping others through various church ministries. She taught Sunday School, served on committees, and volunteered in many activities at Grant Avenue and South Haven Baptist. In her spare time she enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, traveling, spending time with grandchildren, and attending Razorback games with Euel.
She is survived by one daughter Jenny (Robert) Johnson of Willard; one son Doug (Grace) Campbell of Ste. Genevieve, MO; nine grandchildren: Zachary and Ashley Artz, Jeromy Artz, Kelsey, Cordel and Morgan Johnson, Tyler, Kevin, and Michaela Campbell and five great grandchildren Peyton, Hadley, Hayden Artz, Aubry and Brody Friend, one sister Joy (James) Melton of Batesville, AR. one brother, Bill (Ruth) Blevins of Franklin, Ar. and many other numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral Services will be held 12:30 pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 with burial following in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the charity of their choice.
