Kathryn Joan (Jody) Anderson Joslin was born at home in Strafford, Missouri to Clyde and Myrtle (Galloway) Anderson on February 3, 1935 and she passed away at Cox South Hospital on March 7, 2025.
She married James E Joslin in November 1952. They were married 66 years until Jim’s death in 2019. Together they had two daughters. Mary Kathryn (Kathy) Nunn and Linda Carol Brown. She had two grandsons, Andrew James Brown,( who preceded her in death), and Scott Ryan Brown.
Joans family moved to Springfield, Missouri due to her fathers job when she was in the third grade. The first week there, Joan met Irene Ford, who lived down the street. Irene invited Joan to attend Boulevard Baptist Church with her and soon her parents were also attending. All three, Clyde, Myrtle and Joan were saved and baptized that same year.
Jim and Joan met in the Junior department in Sunday School at Boulevard and began to go “steady” in May of 1950.
Joan graduated from Springfield Senior High in 1953 and attended classes at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary while her husband was a student there. She worked full time to put her husband through school. After he graduated Joan concentrated on keeping the home and corralling Kathy and Linda so Jim could concentrate on his ministry. Her support greatly helped him extend the work he did. She played the piano and sang in the choir and in a trio in church until cancer made it impossible.
