Kathryn Marie Vickery, age 93 of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO. Kathryn was born in Springfield, MO on December 16, 1929 to Raymond and Mamie (Moss) Rogers. She was a 1948 graduate from Springfield High School.
On July 10, 1948, Kathryn was united in marriage to Harry Vickery at Hamlin Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. Her main focus in life was being a homemaker and Pastor’s wife. Kathryn and her husband spent over 50 years serving the Lord in various ministries and churches including: Baptist Temple and Christian Schools of Springfield (founding pastor’s wife), Springfield, MO; Wadsworth Avenue Baptist Church, New York, NY; Community Baptist Church and Heritage Christian School, Garfield, NJ. Kathryn was a guest speaker on many occasions for various women’s church affiliations and groups. She was also a National Heart Association volunteer and a child physical therapy volunteer.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Dr. Harry Edward Vickery, her parents Raymond Franklin and Mamie Marie Rogers, her sister Patricia Joann Adams and her great granddaughter Kelsey Sue Stewart. She is survived by her children: Connie Stidham, Karen Roark and her husband Larry Roark and Harry Edward Vickery, Jr.; her grandchildren: Elizabeth Vickery, Bruce Stidham, Kevin Stidham, Bradley Roark, Kari Roark, Amanda Fern and Melinda Tabb; and her great-grandchildren: Reuben, Gabriel and Tobias Kirkman, Ethan Stidham, Kailyn and Kinsey Stewart, Braden, Hunter and Hailey Fern, Lily Kathryn, Lucy and Chloe Tabb; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with graveside and burial to follow in White Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service 11:00 am at the funeral home.

My condolences to all the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you deal with your loss. Mrs. Vickery was such a beautiful, kind and gracious woman of faith. I enjoyed the chats we often had at church and wherever else we chanced to meet. I rejoice in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones in Heaven and one day I will get to see her again.

May God comfort your family at this time. I am blessed to have known Mrs. Vickery. I loved to see her and her daughters come in to my place of work to get her favorite things like little cans of Coke. She truly had the love of Christ in her and showed that to my family.
