Kathy Lynn Branson, 70, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 10, 1954, to Donald and Kathryn Moore, Kathy lived a full and vibrant life grounded in love, kindness, and community.
On April 19, 1973, she married her lifelong love and childhood neighbor, Chuck Branson. Their story began across the street and blossomed into a beautiful marriage filled with laughter, warmth, and devotion. Together, they raised a loving family of three children and were at the heart of a large and close-knit family that included Kathy’s six siblings.
Kathy was known for her generous heart, infectious laugh, and a spirit that welcomed everyone. She had a passion for cooking and delighted in trying new recipes from her ever-growing collection of cookbooks and kitchen gadgets. Her kitchen was a hub of delicious meals and warm memories.
A woman of many interests, Kathy was an avid bowler, loved coloring intricate pictures, and could often be found solving word puzzles on her tablet. She had a playful side, shown in her fondness for collecting whimsical pig figurines and colorful Vera Bradley purses. She was also a devoted fan of stock car racing and rarely missed a race, cheering on her favorite drivers with enthusiasm and joy.
Kathy worked for many years at Litton, where she skillfully soldered circuit boards with dedication and precision, earning the respect of her coworkers and friends.
Her kindness, creativity, and vibrant personality touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to share in her life.
Kathy is survived by her mother Kathryn, children Keith Branson (Tiffany) Kyle Branson, and Sarah Deckard (Austin), brothers Darren Moore, Kevin Moore, Donnie Moore (Paula) and DeWayne Moore (Kathy), grandchildren McKenzie, Lexie, Madi, Jerika, Ethan, and Mirandah, great grandchildren Aria, Emmy, and Remi as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father Donald, husband Chuck, brother Kelly Moore, sister Elizabeth Cochran, and her mother and father-in-law Troy and Phyllis Branson.
A memorial service will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday May 31, 2025 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
