Kayden D. Morton, age 23, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on June 25, 2023. Kayden is the youngest child born to mother, Catina Morton and father, Kentwin Morton Sr., on February 11, 2000. He was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated from Parkview High School in 2018.
Kayden was well loved by many people; he was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Kayden was an amazing football player and recognized for his athleticism and “coachable” personality as stated by his coach. He was a special light for the family, being the only boy. He had a passion for history and science. Kayden was an optimistic and a level-headed gentleman who leaves behind a lasting imprint on the hearts of everyone he knew. Kayden’s favorite pastimes include hanging out with family and friends, playing his PlayStation 5, traveling, enjoying a great meal, and hunting.
Kayden was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Randle Sr; uncle, Michael Randle Jr.; and great-grandfather, Homer Bryant, on his maternal side; grandparents, George and Bobbie N. Morton-Beal; grandfather, William Barry; great-grandfather, Fred Smith; and great-grandmother, Nancy Barry, on his paternal side.
He is survived by his parents, Catina and Kentwin Morton Sr.; two siblings, Nikkia Morton and Kentwin Morton Jr. (Meghan and McKenzie); grandmother, Brenda Bryant of Springfield, MO; great-grandmothers Mae Bell Bryant of Maryland, MD, and Virgie Morton of Mound Bayou, MS; aunts, Tahsha Randle (Jasmine, Jada), Angela Morton, Joyce Beal, Amanda Barry, Lamanda Barry-Douglas (Cortez); and a host of great aunts, uncles, and friends.
