Kenneth Eugene Gillming

Dr. Kenneth E. Gillming, Senior Pastor of Cherry Street Baptist Church for 44 years (1959-2003) and past President of the Baptist Bible Fellowship, Int. (1999-2003) went home to glory on Thursday, February 6th at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, FL.
Dr. Gillming served 28 years on the faculty of the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, during his tenure he became Dean of Education and chairman of the Theology Department. He was a graduate of Nebraska State College at Kearney, Nebraska and Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Norma (Lewis), and four children: Virginia Lingo (Stephen) of Parkland, FL; Ken Gillming (Shirley) of Boston MA; Keith Gillming (Rebecca) of St. Louis, MO; and Mark Gillming (Rene’) of Charlotte NC. He has ten grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Allan Gillming of Auburn, CA and Marvin Gillming of Kearney, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ona Gillming of Kearney, Nebraska.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday, February 10, 2014 at Cherry Street Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
