Kenneth Krumholz, a lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the age of 95.
Born and raised in Springfield, Kenneth was a man defined by his work ethic and his commitment to service. He proudly served his country for eight years in the United States Army, followed by an additional three years in the Reserves. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked for a local ice delivery company before beginning a long and impactful career at the YMCA. Kenneth served as a manager at the Springfield YMCA for 22 years, where he became a familiar and respected face to generations of local families.
Outside of work, Kenneth was happiest when he was under the hood of a car. A gifted mechanic and hobbyist, he spent countless hours working on engines and took great pride in his ability to fix just about anything with wheels.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Halterman; his stepdaughter, Debra Krumholz; his stepson, David Stewart; and his brother, Elton Krumholz. His legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren: Shelly Halterman, Sally Kidney, Joshua Halterman, and four additional beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be held in his honor on Monday, January 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, MO. A visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday, January 18, 2026, in the funeral home.
