Kimberly Dee Payne passed away January 17, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born July 25, 1966 to James Robert Payne and Dee Rogers “Thiessen” in Springfield, MO.

She graduated from Central High School in the class of 1984, where she was a proud member of the Kilties and various other extracurricular groups. During her employment at AEP, Kim attended Oklahoma State University where she received her associates degree in Electrical Engineering. Most recently, Kim was a loyal employee of Sargent & Lundy. She was also a member of the IBEW.

Kim loved country music and singing karaoke. She was an avid NASCAR fan who also enjoyed photography. In fact, her work was once featured on the cover of the Smithsonian Institute Magazine.

Kimberly is preceded in death by her father, James Payne; grandparents, Roy and Erma Payne, and Bill and Martha Thiessen; uncles, Ernie Thiessen, Sam Stokes; and an aunt, Lynda Proffitt.

Kim is survived by her wife, Terrie Reid; her mother and step-father, Dee and Allen Rogers; brothers, James Payne and wife Nora, and Steven Simpson; Two sisters, Tammy Hubbard and husband Tim, Carla Trowbridge and husband Tony; Three Step-Children, Lindsey McCallister, Kody DeVall, and Kayla Maholy; Five grandchildren, Peyton McCallister, Piper McCallister, Phenex McCallister, Maddox Maholy, and Mykah Maholy; aunts, Chris Thiessen and Elaine Thiessen; uncles, Gerald Thiessen and Bill Payne; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Payne Cemetery.
