Larry Allen McConnell, age 75, of Morrisville, Missouri, passed away in his home on January 5, 2025, after battling brain cancer. Larry was born in Morrisville, Missouri, on September 18, 1949, to Joe Van McConnell and Evelyn Maxine (Coble) McConnell.
Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly SueEllen McConnell; son, Joseph Charles Webb; parents, Joe and Evelyn McConnell; sister, Shirley Ball; grandson, Tyler Webb, and nephews, Mike and Tike Redman. Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jeanne Kay (Ailshie) McConnell; children: Roy McConnell and wife Lori, Billy McConnell and fiancée Rose, Annette Smith and husband Lance, Cara McConnell, and Emily McConnell. He is also survived by one aunt, Barbara Forshee; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and friends.
Larry held many jobs over his lifetime. His most notable occupations were working on his family farm his whole life, driving a forklift for Lily Tulip Cup factory for twenty-one years, and working for twenty-five years as a bail bondsman for A-Able Bail Bonds. He was kindhearted, hardworking, and affectionately ornery. He loved farming, riding horses, traveling, the outdoors, fishing, his family, but his great-grandchildren were truly the light of his life. Larry was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 2:00-3:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North located at 3506 N National Ave in Springfield, Missouri. Immediately following the visitation, a funeral service will be held to honor Larry’s life and legacy.
