Dear Pastor, I was deeply saddened to hear about your father’s passing. My heart truly goes out to you and the entire Hutchinson family. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that God’s comfort, peace, and strength surround you during this difficult time.

His jokes deserve to be memorialized: “Don’t go in yet!” and “I’ve driven more backwards than you have forwards!” among many others. My lasting memory will be our final meal together at Wendy’s and then getting icecream, before driving me to the airport in Springfield. I will also always treasure watching the Nebraska-Iowa game on the TV together, where he stubbornly supported Nebraska to the very end even in a surprise defeat, and also watching the rodeo channel together. A deeply caring man, whose patrolman-sternness that I remembered as a child softened in old age to a lasting jokiness and a tender-heart. I will miss him so much, but also know that I will see him again beyond the circles of the world. I love you, Grandpa.
