Larry Larue Snider, 77, of Springfield, Missouri, departed this life on October 23, 2023. He was born October 8, 1946, in Springfield to Dennis Dearld Snider and Claudine (Curnett) Wickersham.

He attended Hillcrest High School and began working for his grandpa at E.E. Snider and Sons. Larry graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1964 and would start working for Heer’s department store where he was the manager of parking lots. He later went to work for the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad, and he continued there for 40 years until retirement.

Larry met Brenda Joyce Cardwell and they were married March 21, 1968. Just a few years later they welcomed their son Dearld Olen Snider into the world on February 8, 1973. They have since welcomed two granddaughters and celebrated 55 years of marriage together. Larry loved spending time with his family and friends more than anything. He also enjoyed attending James River Church and was a member of Gate of the Temple Lodge #422 AF & AM Springfield MO for almost 40 years. He was a lifelong Springfield resident.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Dearld Snider; mother, Claudine (Curnett) Wickersham; and stepfather, Robert J. Wickersham.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce (Cardwell) Snider; son, Dearld Olen Snider and wife, Amber Snider; granddaughters, Avery Snider and fiancé Grant Paten, and Riley Snider; sisters, Connie Grauberger, and Patricia Wickersham.

Larry’s family would also like to say a special thank you to the staff at Cox Hospice, for standing by their side for the past year.
