Larry Relfe Elayer was born on May 16, 1948 to parents Bus and Lenore Elayer in St. Louis, MO.He died on January 9, 2017 at home in Springfield, MO. He was a graduate of Parkview High School and Drury College. He joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA. After returning to Springfield he joined his dad in the family business, St. Louis Street Auto Body. He later became a substance abuse counselor and even after retirement , heard from many of his former clients.
Larry was a gifted story teller. He loved to cook, do New York Times crossword puzzles in pen, handicap horse races and enjoyed all sports particularly St. Louis Cardinals. He loved old movies and Motown music.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Nate Killingsworth. He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda; four daughters, Laura Killingsworth (husband Tom), Sarah Limb (husband Spencer), Liz Womack (husband Jeremy), and Jessica Widger (husband Jusitin), six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Killingsworth, Ben Killingsworth, Rosie Killingsworth, Connor Womack, Millie Womack, our latest addition born on Christmas Day, Elliot Widger; and numerous other family and friends.
Larry will be interred in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. At his request, no funeral service will be held. He will be greatly missed
