It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Luann Miller, who was welcomed home by the Lord on October 18, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on February 5, 1970, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Jon Stephen and Connie Knapp. Laura graduated from Raytown High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University, and her LPN from OTC in Springfield, MO. Laura made her home in Bolivar, Missouri, where she touched the lives of many through her compassionate care, kindness, and loving nature, and dedication as a Licensed Practical Nurse in family medicine.
Growing up Laura was an accomplished ballerina and studied as a scholarship student with the Kansas City Ballet and shared her passion for dance with her daughters. She enjoyed being involved with her girl’s dance practices, competitions, games, and other activities. No matter what she was always there for her girls. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandson Shepard.
Laura is preceded in death by her father Jon, and grandparents.
Laura’s lifelong commitment to helping others was evident in both her professional and personal lives. She was a proud mother to her beloved three daughters, Ashton Skopec (Kyle) of Springfield, MO, Ali and Macie Miller of Bolivar, MO; grandson Shepard Skopec of Springfield, MO; her mother Connie Knapp of Lee’s Summit, MO; a brother Kevin Knapp (Marlo) of Lee’s Summit, MO; as well as several nieces, a nephew, other relatives and friends.
According to Laura’s wishes there will be a celebration of Life, Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the fellowship hall. Friends and family are encouraged to join in honoring her memory and the profound impact she had on those around her. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Elm Spring Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
Laura made a profession of faith and was baptized at an early age. Her faith continued to be a priority in life. Though Laura has left this earthly realm, her kindness and loving spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
