In loving memory of L. Dean Asby, born March 11, 1965, to Wayne & Carla Asby. A remarkable artist from a young age, he brought his talents to life through pencil, ink, and pastel. After high school, he pursued his passion at Draughon’s Business College, earning a degree in Architectural Drafting. During his tenure at Master Printers, through self-teaching, he excelled at Macintosh troubleshooting and repair—which allowed him to flourish as the lead Macintosh technician for the News–Leader. His expertise even leading to authoring Tech Talk, a computer questions & answers column.
Dean had an amazing voice and was the lead singer of multiple bands. Beyond his artistic and technical talents, Dean enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, and culinary adventures. His zest for life was matched only by his dedication to family and faith.
On Saturday, August 12, 2023, he found solace in accepting Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. Dean is preceded in death by his father, L. Wayne Asby; brothers Blaine & Olen Asby; and uncle, Jim Carey.
